From a young age music was in my bloodstream. From my first rock n’roll experience of seeing Bon Jovi performing at Wembley Arena in 1995 I was blown away and become hooked on rock n’roll.
I picked up the guitar at 13 and wrote my first song at 15. Towards my late teens, thanks to an ex girlfriend I was introduced to country music. The raw honesty of the songwriting and the simplicity of its story telling drew me in. From the melancholic sounds of Brad Paisleys ‘Whiskey Lullaby’ to the sweet harmonies of Zac Brown Bands ‘Colder Weather’, these influences sent me on a trajectory that transformed my songwriting style.
I formed the Harry Palmer Band in 2012 with an EP being released in 2013. Playing all the music venues in London that I could. Nicola Carson, a manager working at the time for the the US company Modest Management showed interest in my music, but unfortunately there was not an opportunity to progress at that time.
As well as a songwriter and musician, I am also a professional actor. My passions have run side by side and I have followed both intensely. Continuing to hone both crafts and seizing every opportunity.
As with most songwriters, my songs signify personal landmarks in my life that everyone relates to. From ‘Woman to Hold’ which takes you through the lonely heartache of looking for love to ‘Take my Time’, a simple blues riff with echos of a naughty rendezvous.
‘Six String Heart’ is homage to my late grandfather, the man who taught me how to play and ‘Wandering Man’, a song that takes the listener through the story of a man with no real place he calls home.
